Managing People Can Be The Most Satisfying Part of Your Job… Who Knew?!

If you’re exploring this program because you’re relatively new to management and keen to develop a strong skillset – welcome! You are about to give yourself a fabulous start to your leadership career!

If you’re a more experienced leader and you’re exploring this program there’s a chance you’ve already experienced some of the downsides of people management. Unexplained absences. Presenteeism. Countless meetings discussing the same things over and over with no improvement in behaviour or performance.

Or maybe things are worse than that. Perhaps you’ve had to manage difficult people and toxic behaviour and have been sucked into a black hole of drama and stress.

Or maybe you’re just tired of the sheer amount of time people management seems to take.

For those of you who have experienced the more challenging side of people management, well done on making it this far. Managing people is one of the most difficult part of many people’s careers and can be an incredible source of stress.

But it doesn’t have to be.

For those of you who have experienced the more challenging side of people management, well done on making it this far. Managing people is one of the most difficult part of many people’s careers and can be an incredible source of stress.

But it doesn’t have to be.

There is a Better Way

Perhaps you’ve already tried to improve your leadership skills. You’ve read books (so many books!). You’ve watched videos. You’ve tried to be ‘good cop’ (people took advantage). You’ve tried to be ‘bad cop’ (people said you were a bully!). You tried to be people’s friend (yeah, that got awkward). Maybe you tried ignoring people altogether but your boss wasn’t too happy about that. (They are paying you to manage after all.)

Most leadership courses require a LOT of time and money and let’s be honest. You don’t have that much time and your employer is not going to spend that much money. And while an MBA or ‘advanced leadership course’ might teach you a lot, it’s unlikely to help you handle an employee who pays lip service to your face, and undermines you behind your back.

Here’s the good news.

Managing people can be one of the most rewarding aspects of a person’s career. More than simply organising workloads and delegating tasks, managers can unlock potential, shape supportive and empowering working environments, and help teams deliver impactful solutions to their wider communities. And everyone (well, almost everyone*) has the potential to be a great manager.

Contrary to common belief, you do not need to spend months studying to learn these skills, nor do you need to spend huge amounts of money. All you need is a very particular set of skills.

One Program – Multiple Skills

Module 1: Accountability

–the key to success

In our first session, we identify the ‘what’ and the ‘why’ of effective leadership and shine a light on where our good intentions might be producing negative outcomes.

We consider what it means to be accountable, and learn how leaders create conditions where people willingly do their best work.

Through this new lens, we identify our strengths and weaknesses, and create a clear vision of how we want our skills to develop throughout the program.

Module 2: Motivation

–the energy that drives your team

Spoiler alert! In this session, we bust the myth that it’s a manager’s job to motivate people. Instead, we learn how to unlock people’s inherent drivers and harness that energy to achieve our goals.

We learn the 3 key questions that show us how to immediately improve productivity and remove the blockers that are draining our teams.

By the end of the session, we have a clear path of action for boosting people’s willingness to get the job done.

Module 3: Effective Communication

–art and science combine for an easier working life

Introvert or extrovert… effective communication is a skill that can be learnt.

In this session, we shine a light on our ‘default settings’ and learn simple techniques to communicate effectively with anyone, no matter the situation. We learn how to gain critical insights into what a person is really saying and gain evidence-based, simple strategies for handling challenging situations. If you avoid conflict and difficult conversations, or need to swiftly cut drama from team dynamics, this module is a game changer.

Module 4: Psychological Safety

– the leadership superpower

In this, the last of our structured sessions, we learn the importance of psychological safety and how to create this in our teams. We uncover where we may be hindering our best efforts and identify the actions most likely to produce the greatest positive impacts.

Finally, this session equips us with a blueprint for applying our new skills and unlocking our own potential.

Module 5: Reflection and Connection

In this, our final session, we dive deeply into your real-life scenarios, providing bespoke guidance and advice. We recap the elements of the program that have made the biggest impact, and ensure everyone leaves with a clear plan of how to apply their new skills and knowledge.

Working with Natasha has been a game-changer for me. She helped me reframe challenges, sharpen my executive-level communication, and cut through the noise with more effective questioning. Her approach combines theory, structured frameworks, and real-life examples, making everything immediately applicable. The impact has been clear—not only do I feel more confident in high-level conversations, but my colleagues and team have also noticed a real shift in my clarity, decision-making, and leadership presence. I highly recommend her to anyone looking to elevate their strategic thinking and executive effectiveness

I first met Natasha through one of her training workshops and later engaged her as a coach. I’ve worked with coaches before, but find her combination of real-world leadership experience and coaching techniques makes a real difference. Our sessions are never just a talk-fest – she gives me the clarity and headspace to work through complex challenges, and I always leave feeling lighter and more focused. As a busy business owner, it’s invaluable to have a truly objective sounding board from someone who’s firmly in my corner.

Meet Natasha Edwards

Your Guide to Effective Leadership

Hi, I’m Natasha, and I know firsthand how challenging it can be to lead people. Like many of you, I started as a subject matter expert—in my case, as a recruiter helping software engineers find their next great role. I quickly noticed a pattern: people often left jobs not because of the work itself, but because of the people around them. Some had managers that they didn’t respect or were witnessing their teams fall apart; but others were people who had been promoted to leadership roles without the tools or training they needed, and their passion for their work was replaced with dread and stress.

As my own career progressed, I found myself leading and managing recruiters—and if there was a rookie mistake to be made, I made it. Too friendly, too distant, too much “reach for the stars,” too much “tough love.” With little guidance from my own managers (who were just as inexperienced as I was), it felt like the blind leading the blind. It was exhausting, frustrating, and at times down right demoralizing.

At one point, I swore I’d never manage people again. But then I realized that if I wanted my career to move forward, I had to figure out how to lead effectively—without burning out, compromising who I was, or making life harder than it needed to be.

Fast forward several decades…

I’ve led teams in Australia, Japan, and the UK, managing people of all ages, backgrounds, and areas of expertise. I’ve worked in multinational corporations and scrappy startups. I’ve coached and developed leaders at every level. When it comes to managing people, I’ve seen the good, the bad, and the downright ugly. And yet… when I look back on the highlights of my career, they all involve times where I was either in a management position, or guiding and coaching someone else who was. People are my thing.

So why create this program? Because it is needed. Too often, we are tasked with leading people without being taught how. We’re left to fumble our way through, figuring it out as we go. Trial and error may work on inanimate objects, but we pay a high price when we apply it to people. Experience has taught me that most people want to a great job and go about their lives in a positive way. And we’re all far more capable that we give ourselves credit for.

If you are responsible for leading others and want to know how to do it well – without the guesswork and unintended consequences - I created this program for you.

And if you’re curious about the certificates on my wall—I hold an honours degree in Marketing, am a professional member of the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI), and am a qualified Business and Personal Coach through International Coaching Federation (ICF) accredited programs. But more importantly, I’ve been in your shoes, and I know what it takes to succeed as a leader.

If you’re ready to advance your leadership skills, join me for an effective and enjoyable learning experience.
